Hi, I’m Apurva.

I’m a general dentist, a passionate oral‑health researcher and a cook. Originally from Mumbai, India, I now live and practice in the San Francisco Bay Area.

My path

I earned my BDS in Mumbai in 2015, graduating with a gold medal in Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry. I then moved to the US and joined the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, graduating with a Master of Public Health in 2020.

I brought that training to the COVID‑19 response team of Santa Clara County, where I managed a team of contact tracers. I was privileged to put the leadership and public‑health training I received to work during the pandemic.

While public health is an integral part of my zeal, dentistry is at the core. In July 2021 I started the Advanced Standing Clinical Program at the UCSF School of Dentistry, and in 2023 I graduated with my second doctorate, a DDS.

Why Dental Pathways

My journey from a small village, Titwala, to San Francisco inspires me to support and mentor other dental aspirants. I started Dental Pathways to share what I learned along the way, and I enjoy mentoring foreign‑trained dentists through their CAAPID applications. If you’re looking for a helping hand and a friend who’s been there, this is for you.

Beyond dentistry

I’m the co‑founder and CEO of Meira, a fragrance self‑care company. I’m married to my best friend, Mr. K, and we have a lovely puppy, KayBee, who brings smiles to our faces every day. I love cooking, practicing yoga, and everything food and lifestyle (hence the workouts!).
